Workhouse Censuses
This is a collection of piece and folio numbers of Kent workhouses for various censuses. The folio number shown is the start of the useful data which conventionally starts with the Master and his family and staff followed by the inmates. Not all workhouses were enumerated as institutions using a special 'institutions' book - some were simply lumped in with the ordinary household returns.Censuses from 1851 to 1901 are included
